Spring’s in full swing and apparently, the dogs got the memo.
From markets to festivals, we’re seeing way more dog-friendly events pop up this weekend.
Yes, there’s some rain in the forecast, but a little drizzle never stopped a determined pup (or their human).
Here’s what’s on tap this weekend, starting with a little personal news:
#1 Del Ray Dog Fest
A Sunday block party for dog lovers in Del Ray. This isn’t just for pet owners. It’s a celebration of community. Think of it as Del Ray’s warm hug to animal lovers, with rescue groups, music, vendors, and plenty of tail wags. Even if you don’t have a dog, it’s a sweet way to spend your Sunday surrounded by joy.
Sunday, April 6th
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
George Washington Middle School Parking Lot
#2 Alexandria Citizens Band Concert
An indoor concert by Alexandria’s longest-running community band.
It’s a laid-back way to kick off the weekend with music, nostalgia, and a strong dose of local pride. Grab dinner in Del Ray before or after and make a night of it.
Saturday, April 5th
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Del Ray United Methodist Church (100 E Windsor Ave)
#3 Alexandria Community Dog Walk
A 2K walk through Old Town with dogs + sustainbility fesitival .
This one’s part parade, part fundraiser supporting a cause to help spread the word about the importance of plastic-free and sustainable living. Whether you’re walking with a pup or just showing up for the morning sun, it’s a fun community moment.
Saturday, April 5
7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
