From jazz in the park to pups at the ballpark, this weekend brings all the summer energy.

Catch an outdoor concert, test your trivia chops at a historic site, or check out a Juneteenth or Thai cultural celebration. Whether you’re looking for a night out or a chill afternoon, there’s something local and lively to enjoy.

Here’s what’s on tap:

#1 Alexandria Jazz Fest

Free outdoor jazz, right on the waterfront.

One of Alexandria’s summer favorites returns to Waterfront Park with live jazz performances by award-winning regional musicians. Bring a blanket, a few friends, and enjoy food and drinks from nearby restaurants while soaking in the music and views.

#2 Pups in the Park (Nationals Game)

Take your dog out to the ballgame.

The Nationals are hosting another “Pups in the Park” night. Bring your furry friend and watch the game together in a dog-friendly section. Bonus: a portion of pup tickets go to the Humane Rescue Alliance.

#3 Trivia Nights at Historic Sites (U.S. States Edition)

Test your knowledge at Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden.

Compete in teams of 2–6 as you answer state-themed trivia questions in the gardens of one of Alexandria’s oldest historic sites. BYO blanket and picnic. Prizes awarded to the winning team!

#4 Juneteenth Celebration (Fairfax)

Celebrate freedom through music, history, and culture.

Head to Fairfax for this free community celebration with live performances, historical reenactments, food trucks, and educational exhibits honoring Black history and culture.

  • Saturday, June 14

  • 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
